Key Responsibilities:
-Follow company safe work methods at all times and immediately report unsafe conditions or equipment issues
-Move steel materials to and from storage, production, loading docks, delivery vehicles using hand methods, forklifts, overhead cranes, or other equipment
-Attach slings, hooks, or rigging devices to lift loads; guide and secure loads during handling and transport
-Lift, carry, and move materials (up to ~50 lbs, or more as needed) over short distances and heights
-Bundle, tie down, and configure loads for transport routes with multiple stops while maximizing capacity safely
-Operate tools and equipment: tape measure, caliper, hammer, pallet trucks, banding machines, beam hooks, plate clamps, forklift, overhead crane, etc.
-Maintain situational awareness of moving machinery, work environment, and people
-Work in indoor and outdoor environments under various weather/temperature conditions
-Read work orders or receive oral and written instructions to understand assignments, materials, or equipment needs
-Communicate and coordinate with inter-department teams (routing, safety, production)
-Attend required safety meetings or training sessions
-Additional duties as assigned
-Frequent sitting, standing, walking
-Regular twisting, stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching
-Ability to lift, carry, and move loads (often ~50 lbs, possibly more with rigging or mechanical assistance)
-Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, board vehicles
-Work in varying weather (hot, cold, rain, wind) when working outdoors or in open loading docks
-Exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, airborne particles, etc.
