Overview
- To plan, direct, and monitor the day-to-day kitting operations to achieve a competitive service advantage by maintaining a high degree of accuracy and customer service.
- To manage a team of employees using machinery and equipment for packaging along a production line, adhering to specific cost, quality, and quantity requirements
Operational Oversight
- Supervision: Manage employees, oversee daily workflow, and provide directives to ensure the assembly of kits according to production schedules and specifications.
- Production management: Track production metrics like output, efficiency, and quality. Coordinate production schedules with planning and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of kits.
- Process improvement: Look for and identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Lead and participate in continuous process improvement (CPI) initiatives.
Inventory and Quality Control
- Inventory management: Responsibilities include forecasting, tracking, and managing kitting inventory, raw materials, and replenishment orders, as well as handling damaged or obsolete stock.
- Quality assurance: Involves conducting inspections, audits, resolving quality issues, and ensuring proper documentation, including corrective action reports.
Team Leadership and Safety
- Team management: This includes training, coaching, ensuring policy and safety compliance, and fostering a positive work environment.
Administrative Duties
- Reporting and cost control: Manage costs for profitability and provide updates on production performance.
- Maintenance: Maintain accurate records for machinery and manage replacement parts.
Skills and Experience
- Experience: Typically requires 3 to 5 years of related job experience, with proven supervisory or leadership experience in a relevant environment.
- Skills: Essential skills include understanding kitting processes, inventory management, production scheduling, along with strong communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
- Work Environment: The role is in a warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to various conditions like noise, dust, and machinery
