Overview
Join a dedicated team in Bristol, VA, as a Facilities Maintenance Technician. This is a crucial, hands-on role where you will manage the cleanliness, safety, and professional appearance of both the indoor facility and the outdoor grounds.
The ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter with a strong work ethic who takes pride in the maintenance and appearance of commercial property.
The hours for this position are: 6AM-2:30PM, Monday-Friday.
Please Note: The work environment involves frequent exposure to industrial dust, metal shavings, and debris typical of a metal processing and manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Indoor Custodial & Sanitation
- Execute a rigorous daily cleaning and sanitization schedule for all indoor areas.
- Restrooms: Clean, sanitize, and promptly restock all bathroom supplies.
- Common Areas: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of high-traffic zones, including the breakroom, lobbies, offices, and hallways.
- Manage waste and recycling disposal throughout the facility.
2. Outdoor Groundskeeping & Safety
- Perform all regular outdoor maintenance, including mowing, trimming (weed-eating), and edging.
- Maintain all grounds, parking lots, and entryways by routinely picking up and disposing of trash and debris.
- Operate and maintain all cleaning and groundskeeping equipment (mowers, vacuums, etc.) in a clean and orderly condition.
- Safety First: Strictly adhere to all company safety guidelines, use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and immediately report any unsafe conditions or hazards to the supervisor.
Skills and Experience
Experience: Minimum of six (6) months of experience in janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning. Groundskeeping experience is a plus.
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and walk for the entire 8-hour shift, and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
Lifting: Capable of continuously lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Awareness: Demonstrated mental alertness and strong awareness of surroundings and safety protocols.
